4 months and counting

16 Weeks Pregnant!

Our last midwife appointment went well.  I'm very thankful for the time she spends with us.  I found out the hospital allows women laboring to move and walk as they want.  As many of you know this can/could be a major source of conflict.  Also, I received the results from my blood testing.  Excellent news- I am NOT anemic!  Usually I am.  Thank you, spinach and prenatal vitamins!

We also heard the heartbeat again.  My midwife is predicting a girl because she can find the heartbeat easily. In her experience boy's heartbeats are tricky to pinpoint.  Personally, I'm not about to guess.  We will find out the gender in 3 short weeks.  For those of you predicting twins we will know then as well.

When people ask me whether I want a boy or a girl I say, "I don't care. I’m just hoping for dimples!"

Moo Moo

Justin surprised me with a, thank you for incubating baby Staublin, present on Mother's Day.  On Thursday, I will be spending some quality R&R at the spa.  Oh the sweet joys of incubating and a husband that relentlessly spoils!

Pregnancy is going smoothly.  The biggest ache is the question of childcare after my maternity leave.  Also, deciding if now is the time to start Grad School.  True to my Chabot origins, I don't do things in small steps (in spite of an obsessive need to plan and set goals) change is done in a fast, rip it off like a band aid fashion.  Obviouisly, pros and cons to all options.

I think I need to make a list.

I've definitely "popped" and can't fight with with my current pants anymore.  So, after I'm done here I'm going to order some maternity pants. Here's to the plethora of maternity fashions these days.  I'm glad the moo moo is no longer a staple.

Next doctor's appointment is May 18th.
